The house to most people represents their home. This warm and familiar place usually comes with a couple of rooms. So which is the most important?
Some will argue it’s the kitchen. The kitchen I agree is very important, I mean what can be more important than where our meals come from 😋. Moreover, most kitchens these days also serve as a dining room. Meaning not only do we cook there, but we also eat and socialise there. Some call it the heart of the home. 🍽😋
Another group will argue that the Living room is the most important. What can be more important than where the family spends time, watch tv, entertain guests and enjoy leisure activities. Based on this fact, most people spend more money and effort on the living room. I agree that it is important for the living room to look nice, neat and tidy all the time because the look of your living room leaves an impression of the kind of person you are on your guests.
Let’s not leave out the bathrooms. Especially the guest bathroom. We usually put a lot of effort into the look and state of our bathrooms.🛀
Personally, I think that of all the rooms in the house, the bedroom is the most important 🛌. I see the bedroom as a personal space, a sanctuary of some sort. That’s the only room in the house you can keep to yourself. Away from guests and prying eyes. The only room you can retire to and be comfortable regardless of how you’re dressed😊.
Respect your bedroom.
I think the bedroom should be given as much (if not more) attention as we give the other rooms. I’m of the opinion that we should invest in good sheets, reduce cluster and always MAKE THE BED. For people who have paid hands, this is no big deal. However for busy workers, even stay home mums, this could be a problem.
However, a few minutes taken to make the bed and make sure the room is tidy is worth it. There’s something soothing about coming back to a tidy room after a busy day-Relaxing on your well-made bed, (especially if you have good sheets 😋.) Try and buy sheets made with good thread, some people feel the higher the thread count, the better the quality. However, if the quality of the thread is low, no matter how high the thread count is, the sheet will only feel soft and stand up to washing. if it’s made from quality fiber(thread). In other words, expensive is not always better.😊
Teaching kids to make their beds
I think it’s important to teach children to make their beds every morning. I personally think 7yrs is a good age to start. Some people even start earlier. I am ashamed to say I haven’t started this with my children 😔. I would love to, but at the moment they have a bunk bed which even I struggle to make. But the moment I change their bed, they have to start making their beds before school 🤞.
Please ensure that the noise level, temperature as well as lightning are right in your bedroom. A good mattress is also very important. The way people sleep varies, but do make sure the mattress is right for you and very comfortable.
Try to keep electronics and gadgets out of your bedroom, make your bedroom your relaxation spot. Remember how ‘you make your bed that’s how you lie on it😘.
How’re you sleeping😉
I often sit back and reflect on how much you’ve grown… You were such a happy go lucky young girl. I remember your wonderful time growing up in Ilorin with your siblings and cousins. I remember you playing games outside, riding your sister’s bike, climbing trees.
And I remember the beauty pageants and how you guys would turn the room upside down! You all fought to be Ms. Phillipines cause you thought they were always so pretty, but the older ones would always pick 1st so you would go for Ms. Venezuela.👯♀️
I remember how you insisted on going to a boarding school. You’ve always loved adventure and change. You were always in and out of boarding house though, this term a day student and then back to boarding. You finally settled well as a boarder in JSS 3.🛌
I think back with amusement on how you decided to go to science class, what folly🤣! You were under this laughable impression that smart people only do sciences, and you foolishly went to science class😜. Mathematics was like a mystery to you, and you actually thought physics and chemistry was a good idea?!🤔!
I also remember your result that first term in SS 1, physics and chemistry all red. The physics and chemistry classes where pure torture. You didn’t understand a word, I don’t think you got anything right in all the tests.😭
No one had to advise you before you made your way to Arts class, and what perfect fit🤗! You enjoyed Government, and your love for Literature was natural. You should have known that dear, remember your first poem in JSS2? Yes, I still remember, ‘Epitaph (even such is time)’, it struck you so much you wept about it during siesta that day.😪
I still remember the poems, ‘telephone conversation’ “the price seemed reasonable, location indifferent” 😎 lol, “The Pauper, Washerwoman’s prayers”, I could go on and on. You loved those poems and can still recite most of them.
Macbeth, the concubine and the other texts you studied, I remember how you enjoyed them. Looking back now, it was so obvious you should have studied English. Somewhere in that young mind you knew it and applied to study Mass communication at OAU, but you were not accepted. Interestingly you were accepted for English in Unilorin, but nothing would make you stay in Ilorin 😁, still don’t blame you though.
Back then, most people thought the big professions were Doctors, Architects, Lawyers, Engrs. etc. – how myopic 🙄. And so you went for Law👩🎓, you even did a post-graduate degree in Law.😝
If I could be that young you again, I would go for English. I think I’ll still go for it, its never too late.
You’ve done quite well dear, a lot of people now call you Abi, since you relocated, oh yes you now live in the UK, remember how you couldn’t wait to go back home after Grad school 😁. You have a legion of special Lil humans that call you Aunty lulu 😚, even your siblings and friends call you Lulu.
But you’re still very much Bimbo, your friends from way back still call you Bimbo. You still have the smile you have in this picture, yes, you still smile a lot and love a good laugh. You still love music and can still dance for days💃.
You are a mum now, yes you have 2 wonderful boys that call you mum. Come to think of it, you only have godsons🤔 (why are girls running from you 🤨) You married a fantastic gentleman.👨💼
The Lord has been good to you dear, you’ve grown so much, seen so much and learned so much, you’ve had your own share of sad occurrences (which you refuse to focus on) but you still remain the lovely Bimbo Adebayo.
We had a family trip to the Paradise Wildlife Park, what an experience it was. I felt like I was visiting a zoo for the 1st time, my hubby had to tell me to calm down so many times😊.
The boys are big fans of Steve Backshall and know a lot about animals thanks to him and the Wild Kratts show, so they were also super excited as they dished out animal facts to us.
The Paradise Park is family owned, which makes it even more impressive. The animals are very well kept and the sizes are amazing! Pictures do them no justice. The cats were very big and active, I was in awe the whole time I was there.
How cute are snow Leopards 😍, then the red Pandas and I could go on and on. This has been my best zoo experience ever, and I can’t wait to go back. I intend to add the animal feeding experience when I go back though.
I thought the world of Dinosaurs would be lame, but was I wrong! It was exciting, we really enjoyed it.
Need I say more, this zoo was fantastic, even the playground had the best swings, slides, and obstacle courses. 🤗
Definitely, a must visit for animal lovers.
I really like the cold season, no not the cold! Yes, the fashion🤗. I don’t know if it’s because of the layering, but people tend to dress up more in the cold season I think. 🤔
Whichever way you decide to wrap up your fabulous self this season, make sure it is stylish.😘
Please don’t leave out the lil humans.😚
How’re you wrapping? (In Wendy Williams’ voice.)
