I was wrapping up a post on the MET gala 2022 when I checked in on Instagram and it was all red. Apparently, last night was the premiere of EbonyLife Studio’s new TV series on Netflix – Blood Sisters.
Blood Sisters is a four-part crime thriller directed by Biyi Bandele and Kenneth Gyang. Set in Lagos, ‘Blood Sisters follows a Nigerian wedding where the bride accidentally kills the groom the night before their big day. The show tackles themes of intra-family relationships, physical and substance abuse, love, commitment and relationships.
I’m not rushing off to watch this one! I’m not yet recovered from the shock of Chief Daddy 2, yes, I’m still traumatized 😁. I’ll get on it though, I hope we can share notes later.
Red and Fugitive
Now to the premiere fashion. The theme was ‘Red and Fugitive’ – Ohlala, let’s see who got the memo and who didn’t.
I’ve never seen a producer who steals the spotlight from the stars of the show like Mo Abudu. Aunty MO (as she’s fondly called) doesn’t send anyone’s father 😁. If you like don’t bring your A-game, that’s none of her business. She will dress more than you and we’re always ready for her style.
She’s done it again – in this red outfit by Couture Tabik, the theme is in the fabric, a very classy way of interpreting the dress code. 🔥
If only she had unbuttoned the coat/blazer, it would have made a lot of difference.
How do you step out when you’re the star of the show? Fabulously red and renegade is what comes to my mind.
She clearly paid attention to the theme and wants everyone to know she is the star of the show. 💣
The hair though! I’ve been seeing a lot of ‘It girls’ wearing this style and I just want them to stop! This should only be seen on house queens in secondary school march-past competitions!
A brilliant interpretation of the theme. I love people who have fun with dress codes/themes.
Nancy was styled by Medlin Boss and she nailed the dress code to the teeth. She looks like a badass lady on the run, I mean, she even had handcuffs! 💯
Just look at her, gorgeous, isn’t she? Another great interpretation of the theme. Kate always gets it right, love her. 💞
Do you think a different footwear say, sneakers, would have been better? I think so, anything but open-toed shoes would have worked better, for me.
🎶Jombo Jombo, Jombo🎵. Doesn’t she look like an outlaw on the run😎? I’m here for this look Uche, you nailed it.
Uche was also styled by Medlinboss.
Oh, dear! Kehinde actually stayed true to the theme, however, something is not giving! Could it be the shoes 🤔? I don’t know, what do you think?
Genoveva’s dress is lovely, the picture does it no justice. However, it doesn’t go with the theme. she just wanted to look hot. Ain’t nobody got time for themes right! 😃
Looks like Judith didn’t get the memo at all. She looks like she’s going for an Owambe.
Judith, please do better next time.
Mimi is coming in 🔥. She’s a hot fugitive. Nice catsuit, you won’t be able to get away fast though 😁.
Actresses
🎵Blood is on the dance floor, blood is on my….💃🏽💃🏽.
That’s how Susu decided to scatter everywhere! Small theme, she came ninja style! Someone cannot even play with this Susu o! Ahn ahn, take it easy on us mere mortals o. Is she the best dressed? 💣🔥
Oh Sharon. Sharon MA PA WA now (don’t kill us). She looks like a dangerous spy right 🤣🤣.
I don’t know about these pink accessories o, but then what do I know! Loool.
Bisola the talented 😁. She looks nice. I think all Bisola saw is red, she didn’t see the other part of the theme 😜. White shoes are the most tricky footwear ever liveth (apart from white sneakers) but it works here.
She kept it nice a d simple, she’s not trying to steal the shine from the stars of the movie.
Ufoma decided to go rogue. She normally sticks to themes, but she clearly skipped it this time.
I like her look though, fabulous dress with the right accessories.
Omowunmi Dada looks red hot in her outfit. It’s nice and playful.
I loveee Wofai’s look. She looks like a naughty fugitive, I really like her choice of footwear too, any other style of footwear would have come across like she was trying too hard. Really cute and sexy look
Eku looks nice.
Funky Funke, looking good, girl! I love her choice of outfit and how she accessorised with red. Her make-up is also really nice. Our funny girl got the theme right.
I think this edition should be titled ‘War on Shoes’ Loool. I’m not understanding her shoes! Lool. It doesn’t take much away from her dressing though. 💓
Lala is a runaway good girl in her outfit 😁. Light and casual, I like it.
Red Carpet Damsels
They attended to the guests on the red carpet so there wasn’t any need to stick to the theme. They all sizzled in red though, meet the media girls on the red carpet;
The Men
Denola got the memo.
These two always work very well together, 2 of Nollywood’s leading men. I like them and they do look like fugitives in red. 💓
Fugitive in agbada 😁, now that’s new. He looks good though.
That’s all Folks
That’s all I’ve got for you, hope you enjoyed it. Please remember to share.
Aunty Lulu
Great Analysis!!
Great review as always Adesuwa gets the best dressed award!!
Indeed , but she looked more like an assassin than a fugitive
Love the analysis
Thank you so much, so who was your favourite?
