Return of Arinzo premiere fashion
Hi guys! It’s been a while since we did this — yes, this — spotlighting the standout fashion moments from a Nigerian event. And honestly? We’ve missed it, well, I have 🤭!
Because let’s be real, Nigerians are some of the most fashionable people on the planet. The creativity, the boldness, the attention to detail — the fashion scene in Nigeria is nothing short of phenomenal.
A few days ago, Iyabo Ojo premiered her latest movie – The Return of Arinzo and while the event came with its fair share of buzz and drama, one thing that absolutely stole the show was the fashion. And you already know — we love a good fashion moment on this blog!
Now, I won’t lie, it’s been a bit tricky keeping up with these highlights lately since most people post reels instead of photos. But thankfully, we’re starting to see a balance again, and your girl is back to doing what she loves 😊.
So, putting all the side conversations aside, I decided to focus on the real star of the night — the fashion. Pure, bold, head-turning energy. (Although, fingers crossed all the tension from the event has been settled 👀)
The ‘President and First Lady’ Dress Code
The theme of the night was “President & First Lady Energy” — and let’s be honest, this is not a small theme.
This is:
- Power dressing
- Elegance
- Structure
- Luxury fabrics
- Confidence that says, “I run things”
So naturally, expectations were HIGH.
Who truly embodied power and elegance?
Who came ready to rule the room?
And who completely missed the mark?
without further ado, let me welcome you to the ‘Return of Arinzo Premiere Fashion.’
And of course, it’s only right we start with the woman of the moment — the Queen Mother herself, Iyabo Ojo 👑✨

Iyabo, the Queen Mother herself and host of the night, truly came through. When you set a theme, you absolutely have to deliver—and she did just that. She looked stunning, like she completely owned the night.
That said, I’m not entirely sure it gave “First Lady” vibes; it leaned a bit more toward “Mother of the Bride” for me. Still, one thing is certain—she looked beautiful. I especially loved her hair and makeup; everything was so well put together.
Aunty Iyabo, you get a solid 8/10 from me. And let’s not forget the after-party dress—playful, stylish, and still very much “it’s my night.”
We can then take a look at the actors.

This was such an important night for Chioma—her very first premiere as a cast member and her acting debut in this movie. So honestly, it’s no surprise she showed up in not one, not two, but three looks! But of course, it’s Chioma… a true fashion girl, so we really shouldn’t expect anything less.
All her looks gave exactly what they were supposed to give—the aura, the confidence, the presence. Now this is what you call First Lady energy, no doubt about it. Especially Look 2… whew, that was regal! Dare I say it? A 10/10 for Look 2 🤗
And honestly, Looks 1 and 3 were just as stunning. Chioma, take all my 10s—you absolutely nailed the theme.

I never thought the day would come when I’d call Funke a fashion girl, but with the looks she’s been serving lately… phew 👌🏽. That’s the power of a good stylist! She’s clearly been working with one, and I have to give kudos to @Zackstylingluxury for really elevating her fashion game.
Now, about this look—I wouldn’t exactly say it’s giving First Lady energy. It leans more toward First Daughter vibes for me. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that she looks amazing. And coming from someone who isn’t usually a fan of high-low outfits, I have to admit—this works.
If I could tweak anything, it would probably be the footwear, and maybe have her hair fully swept back 🤔. Still, Funke looks really good—solid 7/10.

Mercy is a true fashion girl—love her or hate her, she hardly ever gets it wrong. She looks great here, giving sexy First Lady vibes. And with leadership getting younger these days, we might just start seeing First Ladies stepping out like this soon.
That said, the look could easily pass for an aso-ebi style—it feels a bit familiar, something we’ve seen before. Because of that, I’d rate it a 7.5/10.

You’re welcome, Your Excellency , now This is how you show up when the theme says power👋🏽. This is a full-on presidential look—she showed up as the President, not the first lady (as she actually described herself)she looks like she didn’t come to play, she came to govern.
I love the sartorial direction, and that extra-long skirt makes it even more special. Most people would have gone with pants, but she’s clearly not most people.
A strong 9/10 from me.

It was a full-on family affair, as Priscilla was also part of the cast in her mother’s movie—alongside her husband, who looked so dashing in the image below.
Priscilla’s dress leans more toward a “My Fair Lady” theme than a First Lady vibe, at least at first glance—that was honestly my initial thought when I spotted her.
That said, she still looks beautiful. It’s giving spoilt wife energy in the best way. An 8/10 from me.

Just look at this—what a jaw-dropping couple statement. Juma looks so dashing; this is giving Gen Z President, a real Casanova President vibe 😁
Is it giving full presidential energy? Hmm, not quite. But together, they absolutely earn a 10. It’s a true power couple moment, and I’m so here for it.

I’m honestly not sure how to feel about this look. They look great together, no doubt, but it’s not quite giving presidential vibes.
That said, I really like the synergy between Tanzania and Nigeria, especially since JP2025. We’re getting more familiar with Tanzanian stars, and it’s great to see them working in Nigeria now—one Africa, right?
Together, I’d give them a 7.5/10.

Another Tanzanian star from the movie—and definitely eye candy for the ladies! This guy has been causing a bit of a stir on Nigerian socials and, of course, has already been added to AsoEbiAfrica’s cart 😁.
The look is relaxed, but it still gives off a presidential vibe—something a young president could definitely pull off. I like this. Solid 8.5/10.

Aunty Mo can dress for days! I love her casual-chic look, which is still very much theme-compliant. It’s giving Her Excellency vibes—a trendy female president.
If I were to tweak anything, I’d have gone with a different hairstyle; a short bob would have worked perfectly for me, or a pixie look. But I guess she didn’t want it to feel too serious. She looks comfortable, confident, and still very much in charge. I’ll give this a 7/10.

Another fashion girl who slays effortlessly—Rita is just that. I love how classy she looks here, without going over the top. She’s giving sexy First Lady vibes, and that pop of color makes the look even more interesting. 💙💚💙💚
I’d rate this an 8/10.

I like this—she’s not doing too much. She’s a guest, not part of the cast, and she respected that by looking good without trying to outshine the cast. The cape adds a nice touch if she wants to cover up, making it a well-thought-out outfit and giving a lovely First Lady moment.
She gets an 8/10 from me.💜💜💜

Toyin, baby, can we get more of this kind of look from you? It’s theme-appropriate, classy, and absolutely giving First Lady vibes.
8.5/10 for you, Toyin—really impressive! 💜💜💜💜

Toju was really busy, draping our fashion girlies in the best of purple(ish) hues. This is stunning, the hair styling reduces the seriousness giving it a flirty first lady look😉. Osas knows how to step out, so its no biggy. 8/10

Omowunmi is such a stylish lady—she always ends up in my top 5 at events. She’s delivered another classy look here; the length of the dress adds a playful touch, which I really like.
While it’s not entirely giving First Lady vibes, I’ll give her an 8/10 for execution.

What a beautiful First Lady ‘going for the inaugural ball moment’ Layole is serving! I loooove this look. Erica Moore really knows how to do stunning dinner dresses, and this is proof.
I’ll give her a 9/10.

Kiekie girl, it’s a no for me. This feels like another My Fair Lady-themed dress—too much going on: too much fabric, the hat, the lace—they just don’t seem to work well together.
I do love the blush color, though. I’ll give this a 6/10.

Eniola, wharrapened? 🤔 Well, in her defense, she did describe herself as “First Daughter”, and that’s exactly the vibe it’s giving. I do like the hair and makeup, but the dress feels a bit too youthful for me.
I’ll give this a 6/10.

Susan is definitely giving us First Lady vibes. I’m not feeling the fur—it almost makes the look feel a bit costume-like—but her styling somehow pulls it all together.
I’ll give this a 7.5/10.

Papaya, is that really you? I guess we need to start addressing you appropriately as Her Excellency, because this is absolutely giving First Lady vibes.
9/10, Papaya—very well executed!

This is such a clean look—she looks absolutely gorgeous. The color complements her skin perfectly, and the overall effect is timeless and elegant. We see you girl, clean, classy and on theme. A presidential look for sure.💙💙💙
I’ll give this an 8.5/10.

This yellow and blue color combo works really well on Aunty Fathia—she looks lovely. She’s giving Northern First Lady vibes: simple, comfortable, and not overdoing it.
I’d give this a 7/10.

Eniola looks lovely—her outfit is definitely giving First Lady vibes. I’m not entirely sold on the green accessories, but overall, she delivered a clean and polished look.
I’ll give this a 7.5/10.

Medlin Boss is a fashion stylist, so we wouldn’t expect her to miss with this kind of theme. She clearly understood the assignment, and all I have to say is: well done, Your Excellency. She’s giving us South-West first Lady vibe. ❤️❤️❤️
I’m not entirely sold on that bow in front, but I’ll still give this an 8/10.

I’m not convinced by Juliet’s look, and I don’t think she is either. She had a great concept in mind, but it seems her tailor let her down—first with the choice of fabric, then with the style itself. It ended up aging her.
A well-styled gele could have elevated the whole outfit, but that didn’t happen. Despite that, she’s naturally stunning and still managed to shine. She did capture a “First Lady” vibe from the South-East, though, so I’ll give her a 5.5/10.
Gosh, I’m exhausted 🥱
Alright my people, let’s wrap this up nicely 😌✨
Fashion, as always, did not disappoint — some came ready to rule, some came to experiment… and some? Well, let’s just say we appreciate the effort 😅
At the end of the day, style is all about expression, confidence, and owning your moment. And one thing Nigerians will always do? Show up and show OUT.
Now tell me — who was your best dressed? And who do you think should have gone back to the drawing board? 👀
Until next time, stay stylish, stay confident, and don’t forget — even if you’re not the President, you can always dress like one 😉
With love,
Aunty Lulu 💋
