If like me you’re anticipating the Netflix release of the latest Kunle Afolayan movie, then this post is especially for you.

Aníkúlápó is a historical fiction that thrives on the rich Yoruba folklore, especially the Oyo empire.

A taster before the main course

The movie will be released on Netflix on the 30th of September.

To celebrate the success of the movie, the cast and friends of the movie were treated to a viewing of Anikulapo. The theme of the premiere was ‘Ethnic’. A very good theme, I must say.

Let’s see how the guests turned up.

Kunle Afolayan

Kunle came all out and I can’t even complain. This aso-oke ensemble is just what the doctor prescribed.

Kunle Remi

Another Kunle, another slayage 🙌🏾.

Kunle Remi has won the hearts of many; not only with his quality role interpretation but also with his sometimes charming and most times hilarious Instagram videos.

It helps that he’s quite fashionable too. Just look at that 💙.

Bimbo Ademoye

Bimbo is another Nollywood sweetheart steadily charming herself into the heart of Nigerians with her hilarious skits. Iya Barakat – anybody?

Bimbo is wearing Shadiat alasoke.

Do I like it? I like Bimbo, let’s just leave it there. 🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏾‍♀️

Sola Sobowale

Oba is a goal, Aunty Sola is a goal, she is a goal 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾.

Aunty Sola looks resplendent in this Maju outfit. She’s got such an endearing personality, love her. 🖤

Eyiyemi Afolayan

Eyiyemi is Kunle’s daughter and she made her acting debut in the movie. She looks adorable in her aso-oke.

Ariyike Dimple

Ariyike was styled by her mum 😍- who knows aso-oke better than Yoruba mums (God bless all mums.) She nailed her look, very ethnic indeed.💯

Aisha Lawal

Aisha added a modern tone to her aso-oke in this outfit by Yinkaells fashion.

Whilst I love her hair, make-up and accessories, the dress doesn’t do it fit me. It’s more suited for a little girl. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Sharon Ooja

Sharon doesn’t play when it comes to themes. She gave us a funky ethnic look in this attire by OObiuku. I love how her accessories are in sync with the outfit. perfecto 👌🏾.

Bisola Aiyeola

Bisola is the perfect guest in this outfit by ‘friend of the blog’ – Flow Fabrics. I’ve mentioned a few times here that guests at premieres should let the cast take all the shine and that is what Bisola did.

She is understated but nice and a teeny bit ethnic. We approve.

Adunni Ade

Another case of understated elegance. ✅

Yeni Kuti

Have you noticed a pattern? Adire plus bogus accessories 😊! Aunty Yeni looks nice.

Just look at Daddy Yo 😁. Young at heart daddy!

From his Nice Kembe outfit to his blue suede loafers and his man bag! Daddy is too much 😎.

kunle Afolayan with special guest – Oba Elegushi

Oba Gucci as he is fondly called is one king that takes his appearance very seriously. When you’re listing stylish monarchs in Nigeria, his name will definitely top the list.
Here he is with the producer, showing us what ‘Ethnic’ really means.

Tola Odunsi and Enado Odigie

Lovely looking couple.

Sonia Irabor and her dad, Soni Irabor

I Can’t get over Sonia’s look. The aso-one pants, the tux, the coral beads and her blue mules 😍. Too cool for school. She wears a similar smile to her date, her daddy dearest. Very cool father/daughter duo.

Another lovely looking couple. There really is beauty in simplicity.

What’s not to like about the blending of two cultures? I love Nigeria.

Will you be watching the movie tomorrow? I can’t wait.
Later folks.
